Private Equity

With this facility, we would be investing funds in companies whose stocks are not listed on a formal exchange. In other words, we would be investing in unlisted equities or directly into private companies. Our major focus will be on individuals and institutional investors who can invest large sums of monies into companies that have a potential to flourish into bigger entities.

Venture Capital

Through our venture capital financing, we would provide some form of private equity financing for start ups. Our focus will largely be on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). SMEs usually find it difficult to raise funds for the expansion of their business, due to factors such as the perceived high risk profile, lack of managerial skills and limited operating history of these entities.

Monitoring and Reporting

We monitor all our clients’ portfolios on a routine basis. Monitoring covers all the components of clients’ investment strategy and the factors affecting them. These include:

• the investment objectives;
• the political, economic and investment environment;
• the prospects for various industries;
• the prospects for various companies

The objective of monitoring is to determine the probability of persistence of, or change in, demonstrated earning power. This enables us undertake thorough and dynamic portfolio rebalancing to accommodate new opportunities and changes in investment objectives. Professional fund managers at FirstBanC submit periodically, detailed reports on the portfolio, along the lines that are agreed with the client.
